Welcome to the Conference

It is our great pleasure to announce the 10th International Epilepsy Colloquium on Intractable Focal Epilepsy in beautiful Miami, Florida.

The International Epilepsy Colloquium (IEC) represents a joint initiative from the epilepsy centers of University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in the USA, the Goethe University in Frankfurt in Germany, the Lyon University Hospital Institute for Children and Adolescents with Epilepsy – IDEE, Grenoble University Hospital in France and the Institute of Neurology at University College London, UK. Since 2008 all Colloquium centers have organized extremely successful meetings which have addressed major topics pertaining to clinical epileptology at the following Colloquia:

The Mesial Temporal Lobe Epilepsies (Marburg, June 2008)
Pediatric Epilepsy Surgery (Lyon, May 2009)
Extra-Temporal Lobe Epilepsies (Cleveland, May 2010)
Epilepsy Surgery for Remote Symptomatic Epilepsies (Marburg, June 2011)
Pediatric Epilepsy Surgery (Lyon, May 2012)
Tumoral epilepsy and Epilepsy Surgery(Cleveland May 2013)
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Use of Invasive Electrodes (Marburg 2014)
Frontal Lobe Epilepsy Surgery (Grenoble 2015)
Surgical and targeted treatments for acquired lesions (London 2016)

In 2017, we have put together a state of the art Colloquium in the surgical and medical management of intractable focal epilepsy.  It is an important one for clinical epilepsy practice and has not previously been the subject of such focused attention. We hope you have a wonderful conference experience and look forward to seeing you in the next and many more Colloquiums.
